Understanding that young customers seek refined aesthetics, creative inspiration, and personalized pieces, Tierra has embraced a bespoke design and manufacturing model. With a focus on delivering distinctive services and making jewelry shopping an enjoyable and memorable experience, Tierra places high priority on upgrading its inventory management systems. Real-time updates across production, stock, and sales channels are essential to delivering exceptional customer service.
Challenges
Prior to RFID implementation, Tierra relied on barcodes to manage inventory. Staff were required to scan each individual item manually, which consumed significant time and resources and increased the risk of errors. In addition, asset security was limited due to the lack of an effective control system.
Tierra tasked 1Gate with resolving these pain points by improving inventory accuracy, asset management, and security through an advanced RFID solution.
Implementation Plan
1Gate executed a full transition from barcode-based to RFID-based inventory management, covering both warehouses and retail stores. The core components deployed include:
- RFID label stock and RFID label printers
- Fixed RFID readers
- Handheld RFID readers
- Inventory management and tracking software
- Integration with Tierra’s existing sales management software
- RFID-based security alert system
Key implementation steps
- Printing and applying RFID tags, and mapping product data from the existing system to the new one
- Transitioning all inventory control, counting, and search operations from barcode-based tools to RFID-based applications and devices
- Real-time data synchronization between the RFID system and the sales management software for every process: inbound, outbound, transfers, sales, and returns
